Amazon’sProject Kuiper , the ship’s company ’s go-ahead to launch a fleet of satellites into low - world orbit and radio beam cyberspace connector to users , is struggling to ramp up production , Bloomberg reportedon Wednesday .
The competitor to Elon Musk ’s Starlink has fill in only a few dozen satellite , according to the reputation . The venture reportedly needs to quadruple its rate of production for conform to a government deadline , which need the company to found 1,600 artificial satellite into place by next summer .
Project Kuiper seems to be a long elbow room off from catching up with Starlink , which presently has more or less 8,000 satellites in orbit and more than 5 million customer , the report card notes .
Besides production delays , Kuiper ’s satellite have struggled to hitch a ride into outer space due to garden rocket launch delays , which are common for the space manufacture . A launch schedule for earlier this month was called off due to weather and isnow rescheduled for next week .
