After report in January thatApple is sum an “ Air ” selection to its iPhone card , Bloomberg ’s Mark Gurman isoffering more detailsabout the approaching slimmer iPhone .
The iPhone 17 Air will set up this fall , Gurman say — and like the MacBook Air , it will be thin than standard models , while combine eminent - end and low - end features . It patently assume a “ Herculean effort ” for Apple engineers to create a skinnier phone with thin batteries without sacrificing barrage fire life-time .
Gurman also reports that Apple see making this the first “ completely port wine - liberal iPhone , ” with all charge done wirelessly and all datum sync accomplished via the swarm .
However , Apple decided not to go this itinerary , at least for now , due in part to concerns about how European regulators — who have mandated thatsmartphone makers support USB - C connectors — might react .
