Apple said it will no longer give over records of user ’ force notification to law of nature enforcement unless the company receives a valid judge ’s order .
Inits jurisprudence enforcement rule of thumb updated this week , Apple said law of nature enforcement and governing authority can now obtain push presentment phonograph recording with a court ordering or a hunt warrant , both of which have to be approved by a justice .
Previously , Apple allow police to hold this information with a subpoena ad testificandum , which are issued by police departments and law enforcement agencies with no juridic oversight .
Apple ’s change in how it palm demands for push presentment data domain day after U.S. Senator Ron Wyden disclosed thatApple and Google can be “ secretly compelled by governing ” to pass on over the content of push notificationssent to customers ’ phones .
For its part , Google postulate a court - issue rules of order before it will hand over push notification data .
Apple did not respond to a postulation for comment , or say for what reason it antecedently allowed police force enforcement to obtain users ’ push notification information without a warrant .
