With a calendar week leave in federal agency , President Joe Biden inaugurate a new set of guidelines and restrictions for export U.S.-made AI chips .
On Monday the administration announced itsInterim Final Ruleon AI dispersal . This opinion is meant to “ allow for clarity to allied and partner state about how they can benefit from AI ” and streamline licensing hurdles for chip order , according to a White House press release . But these formula also introduce new cow dung sale restrictions on the majority of nation in the world .
These new guidelines split countries up into three groups , according toreportingfrom CNN .
The first mathematical group let in the U.S. ’s strongest allies , like Japan and South Korea , which are n’t affected by the new confinement . The second group includes countries like China and Russia . These country already ca n’t bribe advance AI chips and will now face further limitation under the new guidelines regarding most “ shut ” AI models .
