Celonis , the German process mining startup with a $ 13 billion valuation , is taking a varied approach to AI . Like many enterprise software program society , it has been using machine learning models for a number of years , but with the rise of generative AI , it ’s adding a copilot feature of speech , announced today at Celosphere , the fellowship ’s client conference taking situation this week .
The company helps client understand how work flows through dissimilar processes in a company , using software to find inefficiencies in the period , something traditionally done by high up - price consultants . Last year it introduce a new feature that lets customers search at multiple processes by displaying themon a underpass - style mathematical function .
This yr , with the rise of generative AI , they are tally Celonis Copilot , a feature that sits beside the tube single-valued function and lets users need head about what they see .
society CEO and Colorado - founder Alexander Rinke says the society built Copilot on top of the OpenAI API . It had been something they had considered for some sentence , date back to GPT-2 , but when it really took off this year , they decided to build up it into the Cartesian product .

Beyond Copilot , the company is trying to help customers make the information in Celonis accessible to a great voice communication model inside their companies , while also making it leisurely for other third - party partners or customer to build applications on top of the unconscious process information lay in on the Celonis political platform . Rather than attempt to provide an LLM , they are focusing on how to process the mixed bag of information types being chase inside Celonis , which can be challenging for a large speech model , especially when each customer might have different ways to describe elements of the same case of physical process .
It ’s a complicated problem , so the society decided to take a multi - tined approach to resolve it . For starter motor , they are giving their customers a stock and structured way to process the data inside Celonis , what they call a procedure datum model .

“ We ’re launching this outgrowth data point model , so that client can mix all of their mental process and scenario in one view , so it ’s just naturally plug into , ” he said . That should make it easier for large speech models to read this data because it ’s combined into a single entity .
The 2d entity involves defining the different element of the process such as what you do mean by on prison term or late for an account , for good example . “ We ’re taking all of the noesis that we ’ve gathered over the many , many years that we ’ve been doing this to limit these business definition , ” he state .
Then there is a whole API layer on that to expose it to the Celonis ecosystem to build applications on top of that , or let out the data point to LLMs .
The power for the ecosystem , however , issue forth when you combine the unconscious process data poser and the dictionary of summons definitions to build what they are calling a process intelligence graphical record , which exposes connexion between the different types of data .
“ We ’re doing this to structure process intelligence agency in a business across system and departments in one affiliated production , ” he said .
“ And fundamentally it gives you a plebeian language to describe processes across the company , and is wholly independent of the systems underneath . And this really enables a lot more note value for client , faster time to value , and also sets us up to build a web and a platform , ” he said .
It also makes it easier for customers or third - party partners to use the data in their own large language theoretical account implementations .
These product are mostly in private release for now , as they build them out and test them with client , but should be unloosen some time next year .
Celonis has raised $ 2.4 billion , per Crunchbase , and wasvalued at $ 13 billionwhen it raised $ 1 billion in October 2022 .
