Since its launching in 2017,ClickUphas become a democratic andwell - fundedproductivity tool . And like all productiveness tools , the ClickUp team has also heard the siren Song dynasty of stilted intelligence information . The companionship has now launch what it calls “ ClickUp Knowledge Management , ” which immix a newfangled wiki - same editor in chief with a young AI system that can also bring in data from Google Drive , Dropbox , Confluence , Figma and other origin . With that , the troupe point to build a tool that can rival other popular religious service like Notion and Atlassian ’s Confluence .
ClickUp Centennial State - founding father and CEO Zeb Evans told me that he believes AI is critical for knowledge management , but to get the most out of that , job ask a primal repository for all of that knowledge .
“ In the bulk of ship’s company , you have your actual noesis , that ’s written in a sure position like a Confluence [ wiki ] or Notion , ” he say . “ And then you have a peck of cognition in different places . There are some startups like Glean that are starting to link the Lucy in the sky with diamonds between that , but the literal problem that exists now is that you’re able to go to one tool and kind of connect the dots , but you ca n’t in reality redact and manage those Elvis and do the body of work about the work on that same political platform . ”
That ’s a problem the ClickUp team itself faced over the years . And while you could already author documents on the political program , the squad decide to build up a young product from the ground up that commence with a wiki at its core ( and one that feels more like belief than Confluence ) but then also integrate with a unexampled AI system that can force in information from all of these other sources .
“ you may work up wikis in ClickUp , but we also now connect to all of your other work pecker and aggregate the knowledge in one central company brain , so to speak , where you may write wikis based on all of the context that ’s available to you today , ” Evans say .
The upshot , ClickUp argues , is a system that brings together the best of Notion , Confluence and Glean to permit user to quickly create documents . For texts like task composition , squad update , sum-up and standups , the squad created prebuilt templates . user can also employ the system to automatically arrogate tasks , inhabit task data and determine duplicate tasks .
There is , of row , also a chatbot that masses can use to question their papers . What ’s nifty here , though , is that ClickUp has build the organisation in a way that not only cites all of its sources but also proactively asks the exploiter if it should produce relevant document for them based on the query results .

Evans stressed that the organisation takes an employee ’s exist access permissions into account , so the AI will only show up entropy that a given drug user is allowed to work with .
About two long time ago , ClickUpacquired Slapdash , a general search pecker that brought together data from what are traditionally siloed SaaS apps . Since then , ClickUp worked on rebuilding the Slapdash architecture so that it could mold with AI . This now enables the ClickUp Knowledge Management to do recovery augment coevals ( RAG ) — which has quick become the industry criterion for augmenting magnanimous words models ( LLMs ) with additional and up - to - date info .
“ It ’s not a Earth’s surface - level integration , where with a band of these thing , they use an API to go search all the things . Instead , we are actually concentrate all of your database from your connected applications so we can do a lot of cool stuff with that , ” Evans sound out .
look ahead , ClickUp direct to use this raw system to slenderize the amount of work about employment even more .
“ Our big thing for this next discharge is wipe out workplace about study . I hate work about employment . I detest take to go expect a bunch of questions and figure out where things are and figure out what people are working on . Every troupe right on now , if you count on how much time is spent on just write a standup every exclusive twenty-four hours . ‘ This is what I did today . This is what I did yesterday . ’ It ’s insane , ” say Evans .
