Elon Musk lately said he is “ not champing at the bit to evolve TikTok . ”
Musk made those remarks during an interview at the WELT Economic Summit on January 28 . Avideo of the interviewwas print today .
The consultation came after President Donald Trumpdelayed a lawrequiring parent company ByteDance to trade TikTok or see it banned in the United States . At the time , there were news report thatthe Formosan government was opento a deal in which Musk ( a key Trump friend ) would acquire the app . Trump even say reportersthat he ’d wish to see Musk or Oracle chairman Larry Ellison acquire TikTok ; he ’s alsosigned an executive orderto create a supreme wealth investment firm that could buy a stake in the app .
But Musk claimed that he was n’t concerned , flatly stating , “ I have not put in a bid for TikTok . ”
“ I do n’t have any plans for what would I do if I had TikTok , ” he said in the interview . “ I guess I would reckon at the algorithm and examine to decide : How helpful or useful is this algorithm ? And what can we do to shift the algorithm to be more generative and at long last be good to humanity ? ”
He add together that he does n’t “ expend TikTok personally ” and is “ not that familiar with it . ” And he described his acquisition of Twitter ( now X ) as an anomalousness in his vocation : “ I usually work up company from scratch . ”

“ With respect to government , really the challenge is overcoming bureaucracy , ” he allege . “ I think bureaucracy is perhaps the penultimate boss battle . The ultimate knob battle is defeating entropy … The second hard struggle is defeating bureaucracy . That ’s how hard it is to improve governance . ”
