U.K.-based engineering giant Smiths Group has confirmed a cybersecurity incident call for “ unauthorized access ” to its organization .
The London - listed troupe , which operate on across multiple sectors let in energy , security , aerospace , and denial , say Tuesday that it is currently “ managing ” the incident . The company say it isolate affected systems and activated its business concern continuity plans , implying a disruptive incident , such as ransomware .
The caller has not yet disclosed the nature of the incident , but say it was “ working with cyber security department expert to recover affected arrangement and determine any wider impingement on the business organization , ” the company said ina file with the London Stock Exchange .
Smith , which employ more than 15,000 citizenry in over 50 countries , has n’t enounce when the cyberattack occurred or if any data point has been exfiltrated from its systems .
Smiths ’ spokesperson Tom Steiner declined to answer TechCrunch ’s questions . The society said it would provide an update on the incident “ when appropriate . ”
