The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration enounce Monday it hasclosed a preliminary investigationinto Fisker over complaints that its all - galvanic Ocean SUV drift away out of the blue . The U.S. safety regulatoropened an investigationin February after receiving four charge — one of which resulted in an accidental injury — over the failure of the vehicle to transfer into park . The probe was close after belly-up Fisker issued a recall of 7,745 of its all - galvanizing sport utility vehicle and correct the trouble via a software update , according to NHTSA . The software upgrade , which was released last calendar month , “ provides extra hardiness to prevent unintended vehicle campaign via two major changes , ” the agency said . NHTSA ’s Office of Defects Investigation still has one remaining investigation sharpen on complaints that Fisker vehicle have problems with inadvertent exigency braking . In 2024 , Union regulator give four investigations into Fisker vehicles that included complaints ofsudden loss of braking carrying out , multiple claims ofinadvertent robotlike hand brake braking , rollaway risks , and problem opening doors to the vehicle .
