Former top Trump cybersecurity functionary Chris Krebs toldThe Wall Street Journalin an consultation on Wednesday that he vowed to fight back against afederal investigation order into himby President Trump .
Krebs said in the interview that he will resign from his position at cybersecurity firm SentinelOne in purchase order tochallenge the Union investigation , which claim Krebs “ falsely and baselessly deny that the 2020 election was rigged and stolen . ” The parliamentary procedure also stripped Krebs of his security measures clearance .
“ It ’s about the government pulling its lever to punish dissent , to go after corporate interests and collective relationships , ” Krebs told the Journal .
Trump lease Krebs in 2018 to lead the newly created U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency ( CISA ) , which oversees federal cybersecurity and election security . Trump fired Krebs in November 2020 soon afterpublicly debunking Trump ’s false claimsof ballot irregularities .
Per the Journal , Krebs joins a growing list of former government functionary , legal philosophy firm , and university pushing back on the Trump administration ’s consumption of the executive outgrowth to direct critic and objector .
