Dane Stuckey , the former CISO of analytics house Palantir , has joined OpenAI as its new CISO , serving alongside OpenAI forefront of security Matt Knight .

Stuckey announced the move in aposton X Tuesday evening .

“ Security is germane to OpenAI ’s mission , ” he say . “ It is critical we encounter the highest standards for compliance , combine , and security department to protect hundreds of millions of user of our production , enable democratic instauration to maximally profit from these engineering , and drive the development of good AGI for the earthly concern . I am so frantic for this next chapter , and ca n’t hold back to help secure a future where AI gain us all . ”

Stuckey start at Palantir in 2014 on the selective information surety squad as a detection engineering and incident response lead . Prior to joining Palantir , Stuckey spent over a decade in various commercial-grade , regime , and intelligence biotic community digital forensics , incident detection / response , and security program exploitation function , accordingto his blog .

Stuckey ’s work at Palantir , an AI companyrich in politics contracts , could perhaps help make headway OpenAI ’s ambitions in this domain . Forbesreportsthat , through its partner Carahsoft , a government declarer , OpenAI is seeking to establish a closer relationship with the U.S. Department of Defense .

Since itlifted its banon sell AI technical school to the military in January , OpenAI hasworkedwith the Pentagon on several software projects , including ones related to cybersecurity . It ’s alsoappointedformer head of the National Security Agency , retired Gen. Paul Nakasone , as a control panel member .

OpenAI has been beefing up the security side of its operation in recent months .
