Google has acquired Cameyo , a companionship developing virtualization tools to play Windows apps on ChromeOS devices , for an unrevealed amount .

In ablog post , Cameyo CEO Andrew Miller and Google product lead Naveen Viswanatha spell that the buy will benefit ChromeOS , Google ’s lightweight Linux - based operating system , by yield ChromeOS user greater access to Windows apps “ without the trouble of complex installations or updates . ”
