Three local councils in the United Kingdom continue to experience perturbation to their on-line service , a week after confirminga cyberattack had knocked some systems offline .
The council for Canterbury , Dover , and Thanet — all of which are based in the U.K. county of Kent and have a combined population of almost 500,000 residents — said last hebdomad that they were collectively investigate an unspecified “ cyber incident ” that had disrupted council taxation payment and online forms .
Questions remain about the incident , including whether personal information was accessed . Robert Davis , a spokesperson for Canterbury City Council , assure TechCrunch last hebdomad that the council ’s initial investigation suggests that no customer data was access .
However , the U.K. ’s Information Commissioner ’s Office told TechCrunch on Friday that the data governor has receive a breach write up from the three council .
