Ilya Sutskever , OpenAI ’s longtime chief scientist and one of its co - founders , has left the company .

OpenAI CEO Sam Altmanannouncedthe news show in a post on X on Tuesday evening .

Replacing Sutskever is Jakub Pachocki , OpenAI ’s director of research .
