flock of large corporations want to join the AI rotation , but many feel it ’s too early to be locked into one foundational model . That means there ’s a market for a layer between companies and turgid language fashion model ( LLMs ) — something companies can utilise to pick LLMs easily without need to confide for all time to one platform .
That ’s the marketLangdockis targeting with its chat interface that sit between LLM and a company . Based out of Germany , the startup has recently raise a $ 3 million seed round led by General Catalyst and its European cum - stage partner , La Famiglia .
“ Companies do n’t want to have a vendor lock - in on just one of those LLM providers , ” Lennard Schmidt , co - founder and CEO of Langdock , recite TechCrunch . “ So we ’ve kind of abstract that aside in an interface that appropriate a company to take which of the underlying models from dissimilar vendor can be used by employees . ”
Langdock ’s chat port lets companies tap foundational models , open source models or host their own models and make that accessible , Schmidt read .
The financial support troll also saw participation from Y Combinator and some noted German founder , including Rolf Schrömgens ( Trivago ) , Hanno Renner ( Personio ) , Johannes Reck ( GetYourGuide ) , and Erik Muttersbach ( Forto ) , along with around 25 other angel investor .
In particular , there is a European play here : Langdock is “ go heavy ” into the idea that company in the EU will want to safely and securely incorporate LLMs in a mode that ’s compliant with ordinance .
That means employees can work in a slimly more closed environment , enable them to make , for representative , prompt library , use more than one LLM and add sensitive document .

In plus to the chat interface , the party also offers security department , swarm and on - premise solution .
Langdock claims to have a bit of customer , including Merck , GetYourGuide , HeyJobs and Forto . Merck has rolled out the inauguration ’s port to its 63,000 employees . Walid Mehanna , chief data and AI policeman at Merck , said in a statement : “ We are former adopters of GenAI and see a paradigm switch in how technology can enable our employee to become more effective and effective in their daily work biography . ”
Langdock is not the only ship’s company to tackle this space .
Dust , based out of Paris , has raised € 5 million to date and is indorse by Sequoia . The company is building an interface that company can apply to leverage LLMs for various purpose cases like customer service , inner reports , research and more . In dividing line , Langdock ’s chat user interface works for a broad range of use caseful and can be used by any kind of staff .
