Meta says that it is rolling out improvements to Meta AI , its cross - platform chatbot , including the ability to have the bot “ remember ” details from conversations .
In a post on Meta’sofficial web log , the society said that , in schmoose with Meta AI on Facebook , Messenger , and WhatsApp for Io and Android in the U.S. and Canada , users can now tell Meta AI to remember certain things about them , like that they love to locomote and learn new language .
The computer memory feature , similar to the memory features forOpenAI ’s ChatGPTandGoogle ’s Gemini , lets Meta AI pick up on “ important detail ” based on circumstance , according to Meta . For example , if a user mentioned in a previous chat that they ’re vegan and require Meta AI for breakfast estimate , the chatbot will systematically factor in that dietary preference .
Meta says that Meta AI wo n’t call up things in group chats , and that users can delete its retention at any metre .
In another , perhaps more controversial upgrade to Meta AI , Meta say that the chatbot will now use news report info from across Meta ’s apps to give individualized recommendations . That information might let in the home emplacement on a drug user ’s Facebook profile or recently regard Instagram videos .
