Meta is introducing Teen Accounts to Facebook and Messenger . The feature , which mechanically enrolls young drug user into an app experience with built - in protection , will be uncommitted on these weapons platform in the U.S. , U.K. , Australia , and Canada before expanding to additional regions in the future .

While Meta ’s blog post about the launching does n’t share the exact limitation that teens will be placed under , the ship’s company told TechCrunch in an e-mail that stripling will only receive content from people they follow or have messaged before .
Teens will also receive reminders to leave the societal networks after using them for an time of day a day . Plus , they will be enrolled into “ hushed mode ” overnight .
As for the Modern limitation on Instagram , stripling under 16 will not be set aside to go live on the chopine unless their parent give them permission to do so . Meta also commission a survey conducted by Ipsos that institute that nearly all parents surveyed ( 94 % ) say Teen Accounts are helpful for parents , and 85 % cerebrate they make it easier to help their teen have overconfident experiences on Instagram .
