Pospekhov ’s startup , originally founded in Europe but now based in Israel and the U.S. , is about to launch the first two of a planned 24 - satellite configuration that will monitor space weather condition and provide reports and prevision in near real time .
It ’s not intended to put back the scientific instruments currently in space , but augment their data ( much of which is public ) with a voluminous , proprietary flow that enable more exact , timely monitoring .
Pospekhov explained that while many companies and governments are increasingly cognisant of the pauperism for better space weather foretelling , the satellites are aging and the datum is hard to share .
