A speaker at the annual NeurIPS AI group discussion has drawn criticism — not for her judgment about AI , but for the agency she relate to a Taiwanese student .

Duringher keynote presentationon “ How to optimise what matters most , ” MIT Media Lab professor Rosalind Picard ( pictured above ) included a chute quoting an apology throw by a “ Formosan student who is now expelled from top university ” for using AI , with the student purportedly say , “ Nobody at my school taught us morals or values . ”

The coast also includes a distinction from Picard saying , “ Most Taiwanese who I know are true and virtuously upright . ”
