Nvidia is collaborating with Disney Research and Google DeepMind to develop Newton , a physics engine to simulate robotic movement in real - world configurations , Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang denote atGTC 2025 on Tuesday .

Walt Disney will be among the first to apply Newton to power its next - multiplication entertainment robots , like the Star Wars - inspired BDX droids — one of which waddled onstage next to Huang during his Tuesday keynote .

Nvidia plan to release an early , open seed variation of Newton later in 2025 .

For years , Disney has pitched the idea of bring these Star Wars - inspired robot to its Rosa Parks around the world . There have been several controlled demos ofthe droids , most latterly at SXSW 2025 . Now — thanks in part to Newton , presumably — Disney feel the technical school is ready and plans to showcase the robots atseveral radical park locationsstarting next year .

In apress release , Disney Imagineering SVP Kyle Laughlin said the quislingism with Nvidia and Google DeepMind will play a key role in power future Disney amusement golem as well .

Newton is presuppose to avail robots be more “ expressive ” and “ learn how to handle complex tasks with greater precision , ” Nvidia said . The physic engine is design to help developer simulate how robots interact with the rude world , which can sometimes present a challenge for robotics developers .

Nvidia claims that Newton is highly customizable . For example , developers can employ it to program automatonlike interactions with food items , textile , sand , and other deformable object .

Newton will be compatible with Google DeepMind ’s ecosystem of robotic development tools , including its physics engine , MuJoCo , which simulates multi - joint automaton movements , Nvidia add .

Newton was one of many promulgation Nvidia made this week to kick off GTC 2025 . The society also unveil an AI foundation example for humanoid golem , Groot N1 , which the company says let robots better perceive and grounds about their surroundings . In addition , the caller share a timeline for itsnext - gen AI chipping , including Blackwell Ultra and Rubin , and unveil anew line of “ personal AI computers . ”
