In an interviewat the AI Action Summit in Paris on Tuesday , OpenAI CEO Sam Altman dismissed Elon Musk’sunsolicited $ 97.4 billion tender for OpenAI ’s nonprofitas “ an attempt to slow up [ OpenAI ] down . ”
“ [ Musk ] plain is a competitor,”Altman read . “ He ’s raised a lot of money for [ his AI company ] xAI , and they ’re endeavor to vie with us from a technical perspective . ”
Altman went on to quip , “ I think [ Musk ’s ] whole life is from a position of insecurity [ … ] I do n’t think he ’s a happy somebody . ”
Altman almost immediately shot down Musk ’s offer for OpenAI ’s nonprofit organization in a public post on Monday , and it seems more and more likely that OpenAI ’s panel of directorswill officially disdain the bid . But it may not happen right away . In an audience on Tuesday , Larry Summers , an OpenAI board penis , said he had n’t received “ any formal communicating [ about the dictation ] of any sort outside of media reports . ”
