A bunch ofAI billsare flying around Congress these days , and OpenAI is throwing its weight behind some of them .

OpenAI support three Senate bills on Tuesday which could mould the federal government ’s position on artificial intelligence activity . One of the bills – the Future of AI Innovation Act – would formally empty the United States AI Safety Institute as a Union eubstance that sets standards and guideline for AI models .

“ We have systematically supported the mission of the institute , which leads the U.S. government activity ’s endeavor to assure that frontier AI system are develop and deployed safely , ” said OpenAI ’s Vice President of Global Affairs Anna Makanju in aLinkedIn Emily Price Post . Makanju says the placard provides Congressional backing for the new institute to “ minimize the likely peril posed by this Modern technology . ”

OpenAI also endorse the NSF AI Education Act and the CREATE AI Act . These bills provide Union scholarships for AI inquiry , and set up AI educational resources within college and K-12 configurations .

So why is OpenAI , the inauguration behind ChatGPT , endorsing U.S. laws now ? In her LinkedIn post , Makanju says OpenAI believes government has an of import use to play to ensure AI is safe and accessible .
