OpenAI plan to team up up with Anduril , the defense startup , to provide its AI tech to organisation the U.S. military uses to anticipate laggard attacks .
The Wall Street Journalreportsthat Anduril will incorporate OpenAI tech into software that assesses and tracks remote-controlled aircraft . Anduril tells the publication that OpenAI ’s models could improve the accuracy and speed of respond to lagger , reducing collateral harm .
OpenAI ’s engineering wo n’t be used with Anduril ’s other weapon system systems as a part of the deal , the companies say .
As The WSJ notes , the OpenAI - Anduril link - up is just the latest deterrent example of a major technical school troupe embracing rather than eschew the DoD sector . OpenAIpreviouslybarred its AI from being used in warfare , but revised that policy in January , and shortly thereafter inked deal with the Pentagon for cybersecurity piece of work and other projects .
