For the last few long time , the Polish government under Donald Tusk has been investigating the use — and alleged vilification — of Pegasus earpiece spyware by the late government .
On Monday , Piotr Pogonowski , the former pass of Poland ’s internal security system agency , was arrested and forcibly taken to show before sevens , as part of the current government ’s probe into the so-called spyware revilement bear out in recent age under the premature administration of the Law and Justice ( PI ) party , per theFinancial Times .

In 2021 , Citizen Lab and Amnesty International concluded that NSO Group ’s Pegasus spyware was used against three critic of the previous Polish government , include a senator who was allegedly hacked dozens of times ahead of the 2019 parliamentary elections . In 2023,the Polish senate concludedthat the consumption of Pegasus in the commonwealth was unlawful .
