OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Jeff Bezos ’ Amazon plan to donate $ 1 million each to President - elect Donald Trump ’s initiatory fund , harmonize to report fromFoxand TheWall Street Journal .

TechCrunch has confirmed Altman ’s plans to personally place the money , which is not come forthwith from OpenAI .

The donations from the billionaire keep an eye on plans byMark Zuckerberg ’s Meta to also donate $ 1 millionto Trump ’s startup store as America ’s most herculean tech drawing card cozy up to the incoming judicature . Silicon Valley mostly expect Trump to be low-cal on AI rule , which they say is necessary for the U.S. to rest private-enterprise on a spheric shell . And while Altman has no known gripe with Trump , the OpenAI founder is in the center of a legal battle with Elon Musk , another close Trump friend , overOpenAI ’s attempts to transitionto a for - profit ship’s company .
