I ca n’t recall if there was ever a true lull in the workweek betweenCESand MWC , or whether this is the sort of thing we tell ourselves to buffer the blow of a hardware season that now spans 11.5 month of the year . Whatever the case , the years of large companies save big news for big events appear to be mostly done .
Once upon a clip , Samsung split its bragging top - of - year announcements between CES ( TVs , monitor , appliances ) and Mobile World Congress ( phones , tablets , maybe a wearable ) . Several days ago , however , the company moved its giving mobile flagship news to a standalone effect — albeit one that was more closely tied to MWC .
