Shortly after Xannouncedits design to test a three - tiered subscription service , X owner Elon Musk tease that his new AI chatbot , xAI ’s Grok , would be part of the top - tier subscription , X Premium+ . Now we ’re getting a first look at what Grok may expect like when launched inside the X app , courtesy of new screenshots that show the feature of speech in development on X ’s internet site .
The AI chatbot , which is Musk ’s answer to OpenAI ’s ChatGPT , Google ’s Bard , Anthropic ’s Claude and others , answers questions in a conversational mode , but is said to have more of a personality . As thexAI team described it , Grok is modeled after “ The Hitchhiker ’s Guide to the Galaxy ” and is designed to respond “ with a bit of a wag ” and has a “ rebellious run . ” It also plans to answer “ spicy ” question that are rejected by other AI systems , the company note . Most significantly , Grok will have access to real - time knowledge via the hug drug weapons platform and through web graze capability .
Grok was first free on November 4 to a prize group of testers , butMusk announce in a post on Xthat all Adam Premium+ ratifier would acquire access to Grok in the hereafter . X Premium+ is one of the young subscription offerings bring out at X , alongside the live X Premium subscription and a more affordable X Basic subscription .
