Story of the week (and launch of the week!)
This hebdomad , we ’re combining the Story of the Week and Launch Highlights sections , because folk — what else could possibly fit the peak except Starship ’s third orbital trial flight ?
In my mind , it was a spectacular success , and a will to the company ’s genuinely reiterative design approach . It ’s remarkable how much more progress the company earn , even in just three test flights .
And it ’s a dear thing , too : spaceship is inbuilt to both the company ’s occupation program — it ’s going to be used to deposit many hundred of next - gen Starlink satellites into distance — and NASA ’s aim to reelect humans to the surface of the moon .
Plus , going to Mars .

That include a provision that allows SpaceX the right to buy back - vested shares within a six - calendar month period following an employee give the company for any reason , and the right to blackball past and present employees from participating in tender offers if they are deemed to have committed “ an turn of dishonesty against the troupe , ” or assault written ship’s company policy , among other reason .
What we’re reading
I was at long last capable to catch up onthis February 2024 distance line reviewfromCase Taylor , an investor at Thomas Tull ’s U.S. Innovative Technology . I HIGHLY recommend these review . He provides a lot of astute commentary on the public space companies , and as someone without a finance ground , I palpate like I learn a lot . Plus , there are meme .
This week in space history
On March 21 , 2007 , a small but mighty company call SpaceX launched its Falcon 1 projectile for the 2nd time . The Eruca sativa conk out to contact orbit due to the engine shutting down untimely . Oh , how far they ’ve come .
