Story of the week
Last week was a bit slower , in terms of news — to be expect , given the holiday — but I was still super mad by thispartnership between two startup to deliver AI - up to computing office to space . San Francisco - based Aethero is spring up the compute , and Cosmic Shielding Corporation is cater a new radiation shielding material . The load will go to orbit in just mean solar day , and I ’ll by all odds be follow the progress in the come calendar month .
Scoop of the week
SpaceX ’s ambitious plans to launch its Starship mega - rocket up to 44 times per year from NASA ’s Kennedy Space Center are causing a stir among some of its rival . ButSpaceX may have even more challenging plans for a second launching padright next doorway : Space Launch Complex ( SLC)-37 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station ( CCSFS ) .
Launch of the week
Hats off to Firefly Aerospace for launching its Alpha garden rocket for the 5th meter latterly last Wednesday . What we’re watching
I get my hands on an forward-looking copy of “ Wild Wild Space , ” the raw outer space documentary film manoeuver by Ross Kauffman and base on a book by infinite journalist Ashlee Vance . I ’m mull writing a full critical review , but what I will say is : It ’s a rowdy drive . There are many , many repeatable sentences , like this one from Rocket Lab CEO Peter Beck : “ I ’m not built to work up shit . ” It ’ll be uncommitted on HBO on July 17 — it ’s worth the watch .
