Canada ’s large school add-in says cyber-terrorist may have accessed some 40 years ’ worth of bookman datum during the recentPowerSchool severance .

Ina letter sent to parents this calendar week , the Toronto District School Board ( TDSB ) said that the datum breach affected all pupil enrolled in the district between September 1985 and December 2024 .

The school instrument panel , which serves approximately 240,000 student each year , said it salt away historic bookman information in PowerSchool “ to respond to requests for former student phonograph record . ”

The compromise data includes students ’ names , computer address , date of birth , and phone numbers . More recent data from 2017 , also taken in the breach , included contact data for parent and guardians , the board said .

TDSB said PowerSchool informed the control panel that the company received alleged confirmation from the hacker that the steal data was erase . PowerSchool has not comment on what confirmation it has receive .
