A ransomware attack on Blue Yonder , one of the world ’s largest supplying chain of mountains software package provider , is causing on-going hoo-ha to operations at a number of major U.S. and U.K. stores and retailers .

Arizona - based Blue Yonder , which was acquired by Panasonic in 2021 , order in astatement on its websiteon Friday that it had experienced disruption to its managed service hosted environment , “ which was dictated to be the result of a ransomware incident . ”

The supply chain giant said it has been “ run diligently ” to recover from the incident , first reported byCNN , but added that as of Sunday , the company does “ not have a timeline for return . ”

Blue Yonder has n’t articulate how many of its 3,000 corporate customers are regard by the incident , and representatives for the company did not respond to TechCrunch ’s questions .

However , two of the U.K. ’s largest supermarkets substantiate to TechCrunch that they had experienced hurly burly as a solution of the ransomware flak on Blue Yonder .

Katherine Woodhouse , a interpreter for James Douglas Morrison , which has almost 500 grocery stores across the U.K. , said that the “ outage ” at Blue Yonder had feign its storage warehouse management system for refreshing garden truck .   “ We are presently operating on our backup system and we ’re form very severely to deliver for our customers across the country , ” said Morrisons ’ spokesperson .

Sainsbury ’s , which operates more than 2,300 supermarkets in the U.K. , also sustain to TechCrunch that its operation were hit , but said in a ulterior statement on Monday that its overhaul have since been restore .

Disruption has been felt in the United States , too . Starbucks confirmed to theWall Street Journalthat the ransomware attack had disrupted the organization ’s ability to yield baristas and manage their schedule , forcing manager to manually calculate employee ’ pay .

Not all of Blue Yonder ’s customers have faced downtime or disruption . Tesco , the largest supermarket chain in the U.K. , and DHL Supply Chain , a division of German - base logistics giant DHL , both support to TechCrunch that they were untouched by the ransomware incident at Blue Yonder .

The ransomware onslaught has not yet been claimed by any major ransomware radical and it ’s not yet known if any client information was stolen .

In its most recent update , posted Sunday , Blue Yonder state its investigation and restoration “ remains on-going . ”
