Apple ’s move to cut off Beeper , the app that contribute iMessage to Android users , already catch the attention of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren , who called out the technical school giant for anticompetitive behavior . Initially , Beeper was charging users $ 1.99 per calendar month for entree to Beeper Mini , but by and by throw off the monetary value to destitute asApple began to reduce offBeeper ’s power to faithfully give birth message . Though the company was able to get a fixing rolled out , Apple once again targeted Beeper ’s users , deliberately block messages for about 5 % of users , the company sound out .
Apple reason that Beeper ’s techniques “ posed significant risks to drug user security and privacy , including the potential for metadata photograph and enabling unwanted messages , junk e-mail , and phishing attack , ” which is why it took “ steps to protect ” its drug user .
