Artivion , a medical machine company that manufacture implantable tissues for cardiac and vascular transplant applications , pronounce its services have been “ disrupt ” due to a cybersecurity incident .

In an8 - K filingwith the SEC on Monday , Georgia - based Artivion , formerly CryoLife , said it became aware of a “ cybersecurity incident ” that postulate the “ acquisition and encryption ” of data point on November 21 .   This suggests the company was bump off by ransomware , but Artivion has yet to substantiate the nature of the incident and did not like a shot respond to TechCrunch ’s questions . No major ransomware group has claimed responsibility for the onset yet .

Artivion said it took certain organisation offline in response to the cyberattack , which the company order has cause “ disruptions to some guild and merchant vessels cognitive process ” .

Artivion which report third - quarter gross of $ 95.8 million , said it does not expect the incident to have a material encroachment on the company ’s financials .
