U.S. Democratic Senator Ron Wyden announced a new draft bill with the goal of plug American telephony electronic web and Americans ’ communications in response tothe massive hackof telecommunication provider allegedly done byChinese government hackers .

In a press release on Tuesday , Wyden announced theSecure American Communications Act . The Federal Reserve note would regularize the Federal Communications Commission to “ carry out specific cybersecurity requirements ” involve telecommunication provider to perform one-year run to assess how vulnerable their networks are ; lease independent auditor to make indisputable phone company follow with the new FCC cybersecurity rules ; and submit corroboration from the tests and audits and a statement from the CEO and Chief Information Security Officer sound out the telecom letter carrier is in deference with the FCC rules .

“ Congress needs to step up and pass mandatory security rules to finally assure our telecom arrangement against an plague of hackers and spies , ” Wyden said in the pressure release .
